Though I tried to keep my expectations lowered in order to avoid disappointment, it made it that much more of a surprise when the show delivered so thoroughly... The Opening is by Chatmonchy, full of cultural references, while the Ending is done by Sambomaster. Both are great, cute and mellow kind of songs...
The story is about an eighteen-year-old jellyfish loving girl [so a "jellyfish otaku" since otaku refers to someone with obsessive interests in any area], Tsukimi, who lives in an all-female apartment building in Tokyo with some other average-to-not-go-good-looking girls. They each have their own obsessive interests and these are what brought them together to call themselves the "Amars" which is some sort of play on "Nuns" as they have a huge rejection of men and have resigned themselves from ever having any sort of relationships; probably due to their otaku interests and lack of self-confidence in their looks. The show inadvertantly deals with outer beauty as a topic, and the crux comes in the form of a gorgeous cross-dressing guy [loltrap] who ends up staying the night at Tsukimi's "no-boys-allowed" building, much to her horror...
Anyways, I absolutely fell in love with the show, and know it's going to be a great 11 episode run. It also started giving me an odd Ghibli feeling when Koibuchi Kuranosuke's character [cross-dresser] showed up, something like Howl from Howl's Moving Castle but without the dancing brooms... How can you say no to this jelly face?
Tsukimi is ridiculously lovable too for some odd reason...
tl;dr
Give it a shot if you watch anime...
